My first Europe tour: excitements and planning

Hi, its Koel here!

Today I would like to share my wonderful travel experiences with you. Each story will be like a gift to my readers from my creative self. Some of the articles will reflect my own travel experiences and some will contain stories shared by my friends.

Let me start my stories from our first Europe tour. As we all know that the Bengalees ‘just’ love to travel! And what can be better than a long Europe tour with family. I got that chance when my husband Subhadip went to Poland with a European Union fellowship for two months. He had to stay in Warsaw, which is the capital of Poland. So, I and my daughter Aishiki went there with him. From there we made a plan to travel to different tourist destinations in France and Italy.

Though I love to travel but it’s not that I traveled much before. It was for the first time when I was going abroad and taking a flight. So, I started shopping as well as took mental preparation for a long tour, especially when we are going to take our little girl who was just two years old then. Naturally, we needed to be a bit more careful and cautious about her. I took few packets of baby foods in my bag. Subhadip always takes few packets of dry food with him whenever he travels abroad.

Together we made detailed preparations for our dream tour and were finally ready to go!

Baby Potato Curry

Baby potato curry is an Indian vegetarian menu and popularly served as a delicious, spicy side dish. Potato plays a significant role in the regular Indian meals and the use of “baby potato” makes your dish even tastier.

To make a yummy baby potato curry, you need boiled baby potatoes, boiled peas, tomatoes pureed, grated onions, green chilies, garlic, ginger and garam masala.

At first, roast the baby potatoes; take a frying pan and mix ginger, garlic and chilies to make a fine paste. Take a separate kadai to fry onions till it turns brown. Add garam masala, haldi, chili powder, dried coconut, salt and sugar to your taste and fry till the oil separates. Add the roasted baby potatoes and the tomato puree to give your finishing touches to the dish.

Mix well, garnish with coriander leaves, serve hot and enjoy its awesome taste!

Fast food chains: necessity or dependence?

How much leisure time do we get to spend with our family these days? May be, not much! We are now becoming busier by every passing day. In one hand, we are committing to the hectic schedules of our day-to-day lives, and on the other hand, we struggle to find quality time for ourselves.

Although we don’t get to manage enough time for our family, we all love to take quick bites at the fast food chains.

The concept of quick service restaurants first came in Europe and eventually became extremely popular all over the world, especially in the US. Today MacDonald’s, KFC, Taco-Bell, Subway, Arby’s, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Domino’s Pizza etc. are the most popular fast food chains in the US.

All these chains are offering their delicious food items in minutes through dine-ins, drive-ins, takeaways, mobile cars or through quick home deliveries.

We just can’t remember when these fast food and quick service restaurants made a permanent place in our daily lives. Although it adds a different level of satisfaction, these omnipresent fast food chains are slowly replacing the traditional and ethnic gourmet foods, like cheese and wine.

Unknowingly, we are committing to these quick service restaurants and becoming fast food addicts. Our necessity is becoming dependence!

But, end of the day, in spite of their growing dominance, we the foodies get to taste a variety of delicacies at a reasonable price at every corner of the city, from shopping malls to multiplexes, from work places to tourist destinations!

Ghost Writng

What is ghostwriting?

Ghostwriting is that where anonymous writers writes books, manuscripts, articles for others. Political leaders, celebrities often hire ghostwriters for writing their autobiographies. Sometimes song writers hired ghost writers for writing songs and lyrics. Screenplay authors hire ghostwriters for writing and editing script. Sometimes ghostwriters have to do substantial amount of research to retain up the style of the author. For this sometime they acknowledged by the author and called “researcher” or “research Assistant”.

Ghostwriters are paid for their works but don’t get credit for that. It sounds odd but it is a common practice in the blogging world and in professional content writing. Sometimes ghosts take lower prices if the author shares the credit with the ghostwriter.

In this blog let me share some of my ghostwriting works which are published online, in the name of others!!!
